CHAPTER 1 PART 3 : Summary of Chapter #1

  Suggestion To suggest means to introduce or to propose an idea or a plan for someone’s consideration. It can be in the form of a solution, advice, plan, and an idea. It can be accepted or refused. Offering Offering Something is a way for someone to offer help to someone. In offering something revealed there were two grammar namely: 1. Formal Examples of formal words: * Would you like something to drink? * Would tou like to disco? * Would you like to come along? * Could i offer you a glass of lemonade? * Would you mind joining us? * Shall i get you a bottle of water? Above is an example of offering something formal word, usually used to older people. 2. Informal Examples of informal words: * What can i get for you? * Won't you have a pancake? * Cheese sandwich? * Chocolate? * Have some? * Like one? Opinion An opinion is a judgement, viewpoint, or statement that is not conclusive, rather than facts, which are true statements. A given opinion may deal with subjective matters in which there is no conclusive finding, or it may deal with facts which are sought to be disputed by the logical fallacy that one is entitled to their opinions. Distinguishing fact from opinion is that facts are verifiable, i.e. can be agreed to by the consensus of experts. An example is: "United States of America was involved in the Vietnam War," versus "United States of America was right to get involved in the Vietnam War". An opinion may be supported by facts and principles, in which case it becomes an argument. Different people may draw opposing conclusions (opinions) even if they agree on the same set of facts. "Thought" is one of the words in English that belongs to more than one part of speech (word class) so that sometimes its use confuses English learners. The part of speech of "thought" is a verb (verb) and noun (noun). Let's find out more about the use of the word "thought" through the discussion below: Thought as a Verb "Thought" as a verb is the past and past participle of "think". Most of us are probably more familiar with past as a second form of verb or verb 2 (v2), and past participle as a third form of verb or verb 3 (v3).   Opinions & Thoughts Opinions are a means to express thoughts or feelings about something. This opinion can be about a person or thing. Well, when we want to express an opinion, it is important to provide reasons or examples to strengthen our opinion. When you want to give an opinion, or thoughts, then you have to understand first, you are giving a personal opinion (personal opinion) or general opinion (general opinion). Here's an expression you can use. 1. Expressions of General Opinions This expression is used to give an opinion in general, or according to a general view. this general view is a counterbalance and helps to avoid absolute opinion.
