CHAPTER 4 PART 5 : CONCLUSION
Hi guys! so today we're going to discuss the different between Analytical exposition text with Hortatory exposition text. Enjoy!
What is analytical exposition? Analytical exposition is a text that contains the author's opinion on a problem or issue that has been or is currently happening which is reinforced by the arguments and data from the author.
In analytical texts, the author does not want to change the reader's perspective or mindset to agree with the author's opinion, but only to express the author's personal opinion.
The function of this text is more towards convincing the readers that the topics raised are important things that can be debated or discussed together.
The difference between analytical text and hortatory text is that analytical text does not try to change the reader's mindset. On the other hand, hortatory texts try to be persuasive in that they influence the reader to agree with the author's opinion.
Hortatory exposition
Hortatory exposition is a type of persuasive English text.
Usually, this type of text is used to explain to the reader something that is allowed or not to be done.
This type of text is of course formal and must also be written based on facts.
Not surprisingly, you can usually find this type of text in scientific journals, magazines, articles, newspapers, academic speeches, and scientific books.
